台北慈濟醫院昨（六）表示，目前共收治十二名八仙樂園塵爆傷患，平均燒傷面積高達百分之六十。復健科醫師張益維強調，如果燒傷患者錯失復健黃金期，除了肢體功能受影響之外，日後所需復建時間、耗費力氣、產生疼痛感等恐會高出二至三倍。

通常大面積燒傷患者進行復建，最少需要一至二年。張醫師指出，燒傷患者應在生命跡象穩定、無傷口感染等前提下進行肢體擺位、護木固定、床邊復健等項目，如此將可降低患者疤痕攣縮程度，甚至於有助肢體功能恢復速度，這些項目最好在復健黃金期就開始進行，亦即在患者出院之前。不過，如果患者意識不清楚，實施床邊復健比較困難。

台北慈濟醫院復健科醫師張益維指出，燒傷患者如果傷害程度超過二度以上，不管有無植皮，都可能留下疤痕；至於大面積燒傷患者，容易造成疤痕攣縮，進而導致肢體功能發生障礙，最後失去日常生活處理能力。因此，這些患者最好把握最佳時機進行復健。

雖然進行復健的時候，患者常會感到傷口異常疼痛，但是運動之後可幫患處消腫，同時維持良好關節活動度，如此有助避免發生關節硬化、影響癒合後功能等情形。值得注意的是，如果等到傷口癒合再復健，這時將會事倍功半，而且錯失復健黃金期，最後恐將無法有效遏制疤痕攣縮，連帶地影響正常肢體功能。
