針對南韓MERS疫情持續升溫，香港當局昨日正式對南韓發出紅色旅遊警示，呼籲市民如非必要，避免前往南韓。香港旅遊業議會也隨即宣布，取消6月內所有南韓旅行團。而港府至昨日才發布紅色旅遊警示，也遭批評動作太慢。
此外，香港先前的19名密切接觸者在昨日已結束隔離，目前香港還沒有人感染MERS或輸入的個案。
香港政務司長林鄭月娥昨日表示，由於香港和南韓兩地民眾往來頻繁，因此發出有關警示。
香港的旅遊警示制度由輕至重依序為黃、紅、黑色，當達到紅與黑色警示時，尚未出發或出團的自由行與旅行團都可獲全額退費。
香港旅遊業議會總幹事董耀中昨日表示，與業者開會後，決定取消即日起至6月30日所有南韓旅行團，但遊輪團除外。
至於預定於7月1日以後前往南韓的旅行團是否取消，要等6月底再作決定。他指出，自從南韓爆發MERS疫情，香港受影響的旅客人數估計有1萬至1萬2千人。
此外，廣東省衛計委昨日表示，大陸首例輸入性MERS確診患者南韓籍金姓男子的病情穩定，正在康復中。全部78名密切接觸者無人出現不適，預計10日將全部解除隔離。
大陸外交部則未升高對韓警示，僅昨日對此表示，「已經發布領事提醒，請擬赴韓國和已經在韓國的中國公民關注有關疫情的信息，做好防範應對。」
